Provided by YP.comI approached Ann Becnel a few months ago after rescuing my sheltie/border collie mix, Lexie. I'm in a wheelchair due to a genetic bone disease and was interested in turning Lexie into a service dog that could pick up things off the floor for me if I dropped them. Ann came out to my house and determined that Lexie was in fact smart enough and food-driven enough to learn that skill, and we got started with her training. Ann was great with working with my physical limitations while helping Lexie understand what we wanted her to do. After only a couple of lessons and continual work in between, Lexie is now picking up almost any object I drop from my wheelchair or from a laying down position and giving it back to me. Part of our training involved taking Lexie to public places, where Ann helped me teach her how to act properly and behave. Lexie now loves going places with me and is well on her way to being the perfect dog! Thank you Ann!
