Just a bit of a wait for lunch, but still quickly seated. Food was fabulous! Raw oysters, chargrilled oysters, meat pies, fried oyster platter, and bread pudding. Yum!

This place always has a line! I read the reviews and it suppose to be really good, but its not! I like FELIX across the street better! and their prices are 3-4 dollars cheaper for everything!

Gotta try it

Fun atmosphere and good food. Simple as that! Good place to grab a bite in the quarter without spending an arm and a leg to get full. Good cold beer and friendly service.

We started with a 1/2 dozen grilled oysters that were absolutely delicious! Our waitress was very attentive too. When we got our main dishes we all commented how great everything tasted. I would highly recommend this place.

Crazy Good!

While on a trip with my Religion In Primative Societies class down to New Orleans to study Voodoo, we ventured into the Acme Oyster House one evening to dine on some authentic New Orleans food. The atmosphere of this place is exceptional. The food at this place is out of this world! I'm not much of an oyster person. So, I dined on Jambalaya and Hush Puppies. I absolutely fell in love with both of these items. I had honestly never had Jambalaya before but after eating it at the Acme Oyster House, I'm addicted. Also, the Hush Puppies were outstanding. Being from Tennessee, I'm used to these big fried balls of cornbread mixture with onions in it. So, it was just delightful to receive a bowl of these small fried balls with onion and green peppers inside with a sweet yet almost savory flavor. I look forward to returning to New Orleans hopefully in the near future just to eat at the Acme Oyster House.

I didn't care for their oysters at the time I visited. Having said this, water conditions, time of year, a number of issues can affect oyster quality. I can recommend a Cajun platter which for the money gave a nice little sample of Louisiana food. I would probably try Felix's next time.
