Intensive care is needed for children who have had certain types of major surgery, like heart operations or organ transplants. In the most stressful of times, our Critical Care team will be there for you and your child. Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) practices family-centered care and believes that a critically ill or injured childâ??s well-being is best if family members and loved ones thoroughly understand procedures and treatments.
