      Patients come to the Digestive Disease Institute at Virginia Mason from all over the world to receive care from our gastroenterology team, receiving outstanding outcomes in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, occult GI bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease and other GI disorders. Patients are seen at the Seattle Main Clinic, as well as our clinics in Federal Way, Issaquah and Lynnwood. The Digestive Disease Institute is recognized nationally as a leader in the multidisciplinary care of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. For the fifth year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has cited Virginia Mason as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation for gastroenterological care. The Digestive Disease Institute was the recipient of the 2007 HealthGrades Specialty Excellence Award for GI care, and received five-star ratings for GI surgery and procedures, and treatment of GI bleed and bowel obstruction. Virginia Mason Medical Center includes a multispecialty group physician practice of more than 400 physicians who practice at eight locations throughout the Puget Sound region. The medical center also includes an internationally-recognized teaching hospital and research institute in Seattle.
