Amenities
Moss on the roof is a common problem in the Pacific Northwest. The fuzzy green growth on your roof is a good indication of roof moss. Left unchecked, moss on an asphalt shingle roof loosens the shingles protective granular coating, clogs valleys, and can even cause pieces of shingles to break off. Moss tends to grow on roofs in areas that are not exposed to a lot of sunlight. Trimming tree branches will help to prevent future moss growth on the roof. But if the moss has already formed on the roof, it is important to remove it promptly so it doesn't continue to spread or cause any permanent damage to the shingles. This is where Clear Skies Window and Gutter Cleaning can help. I do a roof scrape to knock the moss down to an eighth or at least than a 1/2 inch. I then take a blower to clean off the roof and gutters. Lastly, I spread Zinc on the top edges of the roof to finish off the rest of the moss.
