Founded in 1843, Imperial Sugar Company is one of the largest processors and marketers of refined sugar in the United States. The company serves food manufacturers, retail grocers and foodservice distributors. Imperial Sugar Company refines raw cane sugar at four facilities in Texas, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana and processes beet sugar at more than 10 processing plants in California, Wyoming, Montana and Michigan. Its line of sugar products includes several regional brands, including Imperial Sugar, Dixie Crystals, Pioneer Sugar, Holly Sugar and Spreckels Sugar. The company also sells sugar under private labels and markets the brand, Wholesome Foods, which is one of the national leaders in organic sweeteners. In addition to its sugar operations, Imperial Sugar Company sells a variety of nonsugar products, including drink mixes and plastic cutlery to restaurants, health care institutions and schools. The company is located in Sugar Land, Texas.
